Your First Appointment

Your First AppointmentWe would like to extend a warm welcome to our office. Our entire staff is dedicated to delivering a comprehensive approach to your dental needs. Immediately following your examination, the doctors will consult with you and recommend a course of therapy. It is important that you ask all the questions you have and to express your thoughts about the recommended treatment. Only by your input can we agree on a plan which suits your needs. If you return home and remember questions, please write them down and call us. We will be happy to respond to all your questions and concerns.

Office Policies

Appointments

In respect of your time, all of our patients will be seen on an appointment basis. We will make every effort to be on time for you. Because we are a surgical practice it is not always possible to stay exactly on time. Still, we pride ourselves on staying on schedule and will make every effort to keep your waiting time to a minimum. Most scheduling delays arise because of patients arriving late. Please remember to allow for unpredictable traffic and give yourself a few minutes to spare.

Payments

Payments are due at the time of service. For your convenience, we are happy to accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express and will file all insurance on your behalf. Alternative payment methods are available upon inquiry.

Insurance

There is a great deal of confusion about dental insurance. Please realize that we do not work for any insurance carriers. We work for you. Our treatment recommendations are based solely on what we feel will provide the best periodontal outcome for you regardless of your coverage.

We have a staff member whose sole job is to help patients receive maximal benefits from their insurance plans. She works 24 hours per week in order to help you. By providing both dental and medical insurance information to us at your first visit we will begin immediately to file the necessary information with your company. While we cannot guarantee success in recovering our full fee, we will endeavor to do so, as a courtesy to you. Remember, each patient is responsible for their own bill.

Cancellations

We understand that on occasion cancellations are necessary, particularly due to illness. Please remember, though, that each appointment time is exclusively for you and without adequate time to fill the broken appointment the operatory is empty for that time. We request that two full business days’ notice is given for changes in appointments. In the case of large periodontal surgeries added notice would be appreciated. Implant dentistry requires a team of 3-4 staff members and alteration of the schedule in other areas. Please try to keep these appointments and work your schedule around this appointment. There is no cancellation fee for alterations with proper notice.
